Episode 6: Employer brands as broadcasters?

In this episode of the Employer Content Marketing Pod I pick up on the conversation I had with Nick Francis in Episode 2 about his book, The New Fire: Harness the Power of Video for your Business. It’s a great book for anyone wanting the why, what and how of video for their marketing. I wanted to chat with him about one part of his book: Brands as broadcasters.

Brands behaving like publishers. Brands should be the media rather than the advertising. These have been well-used phrases in marketing, especially in recent years. These are from the content marketing mindset that knows how important it is to provide strategically planned content that provides value to the people you want to engage with.

This is more important to employer marketing than it is for consumer marketing: Employers play an important role in people’s lives, purpose and wellbeing.

That’s why I wanted to talk about (employer) brands as broadcasters with Nick. Here's a snippet.

We cover a host of things including:

  • Why should brands behave like broadcasters

  • YouTube’s very helpful content structure

  • Who’s doing it well?

  • How do you turn the dial towards broadcaster status

You can stream or download the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Anchor here.

Enjoy. We did. And I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences about it.
